What a notice must include
Under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), a valid takedown notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- identification of the infringing material and where it is located on our service (a URL if possible)
- your contact information, including your address, telephone number, and email address
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the above information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf
Counter-notices
If you believe material you posted was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our designated agent containing the elements required under 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3). We may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action seeking an order to restrain you from engaging in the infringing activity.
Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users determined to be repeat infringers.
